The Drivers Questionnaire

Five drivers live in all of us. They are ways we learned to feel OK, and each one comes forward at different times, or when a different part of us is activated. There is no good or bad driver. This scores which are most you right now, in order, and explains what each one gives you and what it costs when it runs the show. Drivers come from Transactional Analysis; the questionnaire and insight sheets are the ones I use with clients.

How to score it

Take each question in turn. Of the five statements, give the one that is most true of you a high mark, 7 to 10. Give the one that is least true a low mark, 0 to 3. Place the other three in between. The first question may take a moment; once the system is clear it goes quickly.

Answer intuitively. Be wary of trying too hard to get perfect answers, in the quickest time, to please me, or to prove the theory wrong. If you noticed yourself in that sentence, that is the questionnaire working already.

All five drivers are in all of us. The order shows which ones are closest to the surface for you at the moment, and that shifts with what is going on in your life and which part of you is at the wheel. A high score is neither a fault nor a badge; it is a strength you rely on, and a strength that has a cost when it takes over.

Send me your five scores before we meet; the answers themselves are yours to keep. If you have a partner, they may be curious to do it too, and the pair of results is a conversation in itself.
